Administrative Away Time
For the next few days, Bryan and I are going to be a little busy away from Enguardia. Bryan is in school and getting pounded with homework and I’ve got a ton of work to do. Things will continue as they always have, I just won’t be around to host as many events or just be as personal.
With that being said, I’m going to try to pull away from the personal aspects of the server a little more. Not developing any sort of close relationships with our player base would only help me continue to make fair and positive decisions for the server.
We’ve also been logging in invisibly, so if it looks like we haven’t been around these past two days, we have. You just can’t see us sometimes.
Just Some Things
Scrambled updates here.
- You need to be checking the website as often as possible. Set us as your homepage, subscribe to the RSS, something. Your knowledge of what goes on with our server is as limited as your awareness and activity.
- Though it causes a major cramp in the flow (sounds gross), I’ll try to post more warnings before doing any major updates that change existing game mechanics.
- I posted this before, but maybe no one saw it: Our server has basically been future-proofed. Many forests and mines now automatically scramble and respawn.
- Do you know anyone who is very talented with plugin coding and web design? Have them contact me. (By very talented, I mean it. I’ll turn away a lot of people.) I have several hundred dollars that would interest them.
- I’m probably going to develop some sort of plugin that warps players back to spawn after they’ve been offline for a certain amount of time. People use alts as teleport vehicles and I dislike it.
- Using alts for faction power is against our rules.
- Creeper explosion range has been raised from Y axis <50 to Y axis <80
- Faction land costs and banks are now enabled, use the “/f money” command and get familiar (only Leader and Officer ranks can withdraw)
Corrupted Chunk Fixing
I’ve fixed the huge, cobblestone-bare pitfalls to bedrock that were surrounding spawn. If you find any more near spawn, please Notepad the coordinates or give them to me so that I can fix them. They are ugly and inconvenient.
Factions Costs & Banks
Faction banks will be enabled soon. There will also be costs associated with doing certain faction actions and commands.
This is only a warning so that you know what to expect in the coming days.
Also, if you didn’t see the MOTD, Factions data was rolled back about two days. No items are lost, no map changes are lost, only factions/members/claims within the past two days. If you’ve created a faction, added new members, or claimed land within the past two days, you will need to redo it.
The changes are not very significant:
- Claiming land from Wilderness will cost $500.
- Land claims will multiple by the number of land you have. For example, if you are claiming your third piece of land, it will cost $1500.
- When unclaiming land, you are refunded 80%.
- All funds will be taken from the faction bank.
If all goes well, only leaders and officers should be able to withdraw from the bank. The bank should really be the only considerable change here, as it can be used very wisely. Minimal and insignificant costs will be assigned to commands to create a new faction and change your faction description. This is mainly to prevent muted players from being able to spam with Factions.
Apologies for that, the Factions configuration files are very sensitive, and the smallest typo can cause the plugin to completely delete all data.

- Sword + Silk Touch = capture (right click to drop creature/boat/minecart/primed TNT as item)
- Flint & Steel + Silk Touch = remote detonate (ignite TNT)
- Chestplate + Sharpness = reflect damage
- Leggings + Feather Falling = surface (triple-tap Shift)
- Fishing Rod + Sharpness = damage mobs
- Pickaxe + Sharpness = mine ore vein
- Hoe + Punch = grow animal
- Pickaxe/Shovel/Axe + Flame II = auto-smelt and light path
